Hello Quilt Mama's!

Happy Easter to you & yours!!! How has your holiday weekend been? Did you get a basket of goodies from the Easter Bunny...?! Yeh, me neither... : /

Jean - how was Brunch?! I have to agree. Brunch is one of the best meal/food inventions - EVER! How did your (Lori's) casserole turn out?

Scott & I have had a quiet weekend here @ home. I caught "the Disney plague" while in Florida, & have been fighting to feel well & healthy. I may have to see the Dr.

We painted Easter eggs today. And, the "egg fights" have begun... Here are a few pics for your viewing enjoyment. ; )

Today was the first time in 2 weeks that I stitched. It felt nice to sit in my porch rocker in our studio & do some hand quilting. I hope you had the chance to stitch a little too! : )

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday!!! Bee @ Jean's! Getting excited & ready for our Lancaster adventure too!!!

Good Evening Ladies,

How has everyone been? My cold is starting to improve, but it's felt like a l-o-n-g week. : / And, tonight is full moon...uh oh...

Is everyone gearing up for the Lancaster Quilt Show?! I'm in a quandary. I spoke with Momma Barb last night. She, Karen, & some other ladies are going to the Show on Friday. I thought they were going on Thursday. Boonie Barb called tonight to say that so far she doesn't know if she can get off work?! Being in the middle isn't a whole lot of fun...

Meanwhile, I got a postcard in today's mail from Jennifer Chiaverini. Did anyone else get the postcard too? She will be @ Chester County Books the Monday following the Lancaster Quilt Show, 3/31 @ 7 P.M., with her newest book, "The Winding Ways Quilt." Check out her website: Elm Creek Quilts

I am looking forward to Friday & TGIF! : ) Have a nice evening & a good tomorrow!

Did anyone else receive the PINK Lady Fingers sales card in the mail...?! ; )

To quote Pooh bear, "Oooh, it's a blustery day!" Have a good one.

Hello Girls!

We're HOME!!! : ) We had a GREAT trip, but there's NO place like home!

Yes. It's true. We DID see Joe Byrnes!!! Who'd a thunk...?!

Well, I don't know about Joe Byrnes, but they offered me a job! It must have been the mouse ears that did it!?

Scott & I rode ALL the rides!!! Tower of Terror, & Rockin' Roller Coaster - 7 times! Soarin' - 4 times!!! This is my new FAVORITE ride!!! It's just like you're flying, no kidding!!! It made me cry. Buzz Lightyear - 4 times! Space Mountain & Pirates of the Carribean - twice! And, lots of others just once - Expedition Everest, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Cinderella's Carousel, Peter Pan's Flight...you get the idea! ; )

Our weather was nice, meals were great, & I wore my ears just about the WHOLE time!!!

Thanks for blogging while I was away. It was FUN to read & catch up on the news. ; )

Dolores - how much sewing did you get done last week?!
Jean - I'm anxious to see your Celtic wall hanging!
Cath - how did the t-shirt quilt turn out? Did you do a continuous bias binding?
Lois - Oooh! What kind of jacket are you making?!
LA - you ALWAYS make me smile! : )
Lor - sheets...?!
Mo - ahhhh, spa....
Mare & Peggy - take some Advil tomorrow evening...& be SAFE!!!

Have a Happy St. Patty's Day tomorrow, girls!

Hello, girls....Happy St. Patrick's Day weekend. The Quiltmamas will be duly represented by Mare and Peggy on Monday - they'll be downtown, visiting various Irish drinking establishments and not doing any sewing! The rest of us can celebrate vicariously and not deal with the hangover - it's better than nothing! Pam and Scott are due back tonight. I'm sure they had a great time. Dolores - how is Joe? When is he coming back? Did he get a job down there? Anxious to hear his tales of the trip also. Hope everyone else is well....have a nice weekend. Haven't heard back from the Lancaster B&B lady - I'll call her this weekend to finalize cost, form of payment etc. I'll keep you posted. Two weeks from right now we'll have bolts in hand! YAY!!!! Thanks to Leigh Anne for posting the times of our first three sewing days....number one is April 11th - 7-10pm. I'll host that one. Tomorrow, March 15th is National Quilting Day - hope you do something 'quilty'! Piece....

Wednesday, March 12, 2008

Good morning, girls!! Cath - thanks for having us last night - a small but mighty bunch. First - congrats to Kerry for making O'Hara's varsity softball team!!! Yay!! It couldn't happen to a nicer or more deserving young lady. Cathy has her t-shirt quilt finished - it's awesome - and quite large. Devyn is going to just love it. We set up our first three sewing days - starting in April. Leigh Anne, bless her heart, put it right into her calendar and will blog the dates and times because I will probably write the wrong thing. She also had show & tell - made some lovely green placemats for her MIL for St. Patrick's Day - futher solidifying her status as number one daughter-in-law! And she had some great stash builder fabrics too. Lori had us in stitches about her adventures with parents and buying unnecessary sheets for her mother! OY! Lois is making a neat jacket - looking forward to seeing that finished. Mare let us know how Bill and Joanna are holding up. Keeping them in our prayers. I had my finished Celtic wallhanging top with me - it was a fun project - a little tedious but not bad. We talked briefly about Lancaster - we'll finalize on the Tuesday before the big days. Next week is Holy week - I have to be at Church two nights - one of them being Tuesday (an advance warning, in case there are any strange, unnatural occurrances or acts of God). Cathy cannot host either. The countdown is on....and it has been confirmed in person - Joe Brynes did run into Pam & Scott in Disneyworld. Quiltmama sightings are truly becoming more common - all over the country apparently. How awesome is that!? Piece...

Monday, March 10, 2008

Hello, girls! Hope everyone is having a nice Monday. Thanks to Cathy for hosting this week. Hope to see y'all there with Show & Tell. Think Pam and Scott have met up with Joe Byrnes in Disneyworld yet? Wouldn't you like to be there for that? Heck - I'd just like to be there. Hopefully we can talk about the Saturday/Friday sewing schedule tomorrow evening. Got a bit of sewing done over the weekend. But the best part - Erin and I got to march in the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday with Peggy and her students and the Best Buddies! What a blast! What a crew - just a great bunch of folks. Thanks, Peggy!!!!! See you guys.....only 10 days till spring - yahoo!!! Piece....

Ahhh, it's SPRING BREAK!!! It feels good!!! TGIF everyone!!! : )

The suitcases are packed, & it won't be too long before we tuck in for the night. I am sipping a nice glass of wine, & perusing the Birnbaum's guide book to Disney.

Momma Barb returns home on Sunday. She & Karen spent the week in Texas. Yesterday when classes/teaching were finished they decided to do some tourist things. They're FUN!!!

Have a nice weekend girls, & a good week! Blog in my absence & I'll look forward to catching up when we return home on Friday. ; )

Stay dry...& get LOTS of sewing done!!!

Good Evening Girls,

It was FUN to get together last evening!!! : ) I always enjoy Show 'n Tell, & keeping up with everyone's lives, & the latest news. Thanks for sharing. Let's see if I can recap...

Jean - the disappearing 9 patch block is WAY cool!!! A simple block with SEW many variations. Quick & clever. Imagine adding sashing, or a flying geese border to add even more impact without a big time commitment. Nice!

Cath - look @ you & ALL that thread!!! ; ) Thanks for sharing. Your T-shirt quilt is GREAT! I REALLY like that aqua fabric with the orange. Thanks for the magazine. Jingle sends his thanks too! If you have any questions about the continuous bias binding directions, Cathy, just give a holler. We're not leaving 'til Saturday morning.

Lois - your pictures are SUPER!!! Van is getting big, & Ainsley (is that spelled correctly?!) is a real CUTIE!!! : ) Thanks for sharing, Grandma!!! Thanks also for letting us take a look @ your fat quarter book. And hey - are you coming to Lancaster with us?!?!?! It's FUN, c'mon!!!

Dolores - your Snoopy blanket is SEW cuddly & cute!!! You are doing a TERRIFIC job with your Gracie machine!!! : ) I feel proud of you. Your Roman Holiday jelly roll quilt is awesome! Isn't wonderful to piece the back & use up those odds & ends from your stash?! You SEW girl!!! If I SEE Joe Byrnes @ Disney I'm gonna die...!? ; )

Maureen - your quilt is BEAUTIFUL!!! I LOVE Matt's block & the fact that he covers with it every night! : ) BIG FAT KUDO'S on WINNING your court case!!! HOORAY!!! Thanks for the lip stick...

Mare - we are going to miss you in Lancaster, girl friend. : / Hope all goes as smoothly as possible with Bill's parents. Things happen for a reason...

Lori - thanks for hosting the QM's last night. We can sometimes get a bit rowdy, but I think we kept ourselves to a dull roar. Glad if John is feeling better. The "mod" T-shirt quilt you've been working on is turning out WAY hip!!! You've done a REALLY nice job with the fabrics, Lor. Your label on the back is SEW original & neat. : ) Thanks for the Jingle bags. He's embarrassed...

Leigh Anne - GLAD you're feeling better & didn't have to take antibiotics! Your baby bump is starting to show!!! : )

Thanks for looking @ my Fancy Pants, & the 2nd baby TATW quilt too.

Enjoy your evening & have a GOOD tomorrow!

Good Morning Girls!

Is SPRING in the air...?! Let's HOPE so!!! For those who may be interested...Lois & Mike DiNardo...the Flower Show is in full (SPRING) swing! : ) And, the theme is Jazz It Up. Cath, I think you should take Mike. He said he's never been there before. And, Lois you've not been there either, right? Go!!! It's practically in our back yard!!! Go, be inspired, & breathe a breath of fresh air!!! Just take the R5 right into Market East, walk up the stairs to the Convention Center & you're there!!! I think you can purchase discount tickets from the Septa ticket office for the Flower Show, or from PNC banks too.

Jean. You are a gem! : ) I think the sewing idea is super! A Friday or Saturday would work for me!

I went to Cloth & Bobbin on Saturday afternoon & picked up two wonderful thimbles! It was nice of Johanna to order them. The only other place I've been able to find them is @ a Quilt Show.

Speaking of which, is everyone getting ready for Lancaster?! I started making a list already!!! It's 25 days away!!!

Enjoy your day & the nicer weather. : )

Good Afternoon Bee Girls,

How is everyone doing today? I am sorry the weekend is coming to a close. I am liking the SUNshine though!!! : )

Today I finished FMQing the TATW baby quilt that's been on the back burner forever. I got the binding machine stitched too, & used the APQ lumpless binding video...again!!! I LOVE that!!! This week I will work on whip stitching the binding to the back.

Meanwhile, I have the PA Pickle Dish basket back on my sewing table. I will work on machine stitching it when I have time. I have done more ripping than stitching so/sew far! And, I HATE to rip!!!

I talked with Boonie Barb yesterday morning about her BSR. They got 8 inches of snow on Friday + 6 inches earlier in the week. Hello, that's 14 inches of snow - in ONE week!!! NO thank you!!!

I am reading A New Earth. This is the book touted by Oprah to be life/world changing. I even signed up for the webcast that begins tomorrow evening. I've NEVER done anything like this before... Has anyone else read this book?! I also am reading Cesar's Way, to help with Jingle. And, I am still reading the Barack Obama book, Dreams of My Father. Yeh, no light reads here...

T-minus 5 days 'til DISNEY!!! I've been wearing the mouse ears around the house on occasion. They scare Shelby, except for when they're sitting on my sewing or cutting table...?!

Enjoy your Sunday! Have you done any stitching?!

Good Morning Girls!

How is everyone doing?! Everyone has been busy with so much going on in their lives! It's hard to keep up...

Cath - how's your Mom been doing? How is Tim's ear? And, what else is news from your end? Thanks for being a soup deliver-er! How is that t-shirt quilt coming along?!

Lori - how did John do? Did LA get your kids home safe & sound...?! ; ) How's your Dad? How is the t-shirt quilt that you're working on? Any other news from your place?

LA - are you on an antibiotic? Keep yourself & that baby healthy!!! Do GOOD hand washing!!! Glad if you liked the soup! Hey, where did you & Gerry go for your anniversary?

Mo - how did settlement go? I know how strange it feels to have the home you grew up in no longer be a part of your life. It's like closing a chapter & moving on to a new one. How are you doing?

Jean - how is your Celtic project coming along? I think it sounds neat! How was class?! Was Peggy there?! What else is going on?

Mare - how was your birthday?! Do anything FUN!? : ) Get any sewing gadgets, fabric or Houston bucks...?! ; ) Are you sewing anything?!

Dolores - you are TOO funny..."I just plug it in & pray!!!" : ) How are your sewing projects coming along? Any more "lint lung" in your home...?! Hope you are ALL well!!!

Lois & Peggy - are you out there...?! What's going on in your world...?

I'm doing alright. It was a sUcK-tastic work week!!! My Thursday shift was incredibly BAD, & I couldn't imagine a worse 8 hours...then came Friday. I can't tell you how gleeful I feel when I see Scott driving our little (Herman Munster) car up the college driveway, knowing I can fly OUT the door & go HOME!!!

This week I've been doing FMQ on a TATW baby quilt. It's good therapy. Plus, I wanted practice sew I could talk with Boonie Barb about her BSR later today.

Looks like we dodged the predicted Winter clipper yesterday! How long 'til Spring?! Hey, LANCASTER is LESS THAN a month away!!!

Enjoy your weekend & stitch. Bee this week...?! I am going to try to get to Cloth & Bobbin today or tomorrow, anyone interested on going along? I want to pick up my leather thimble...Cath, did you get one yet?
