Gotta LOVE Saturdays!!!

Good Evening Girls!

How's everyone doing?  Mare - how's 50?  Lois - are you home?!  How was your trip?  How's your Mom doing?  Lor - did you find the steel cut oatmeal recipe on our blog?  Have you tried it yet?

Momma Barb called called this morning with NEWS!!!  Karen took first place in her category, traditional applique - large, @ the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Show!!!  Such a nice surprise!  : )  Also, Arabesque has been juried in to the Lancaster Quilt Show!!!

Guess what...?!  I made homemade pizza this evening for dinner!!!  Thanks, Mare!  It turned out pretty good for my first try.

Is anyone going to the Philadelphia Flower Show?  It opens tomorrow.  In the past, I'd go on Sunday morning, & I can't tell you how many times I did that & it snowed.  They're calling for a "wintry mix" tomorrow.  I LOVE the feeling of Spring that the Flower Show provides...& @ just the right moment too!

Today I sewed on my small Whig Rose machine applique project.  I'm ready to make the decision about borders or no.  I haven't decided yet...  I do like the SO non-traditional fabrics I've chosen to use for this piece!  I have been wanting to do this with Amy Butler & Kaffe Fassett fabrics.  I wasn't sure I'd like the look though, but so far I do!  : )  What are you stitching this weekend?  Whatever it is - ENJOY!!!

HAPPY ( 50th) BIRTHDAY MARIANNE!!!  HAVE A SPECTACULAR DAY!  : )

A birthday celebration...

Last evening was a lot of FUN, girls!!!  : )  So...SEW good to see everyone!

Lois - you were missed, but we've been sending + juju & hoping things are going well in Ohio!

Jean - I forgot to ask you about the Donor Quilt.  Do you need help basting it?

Mare - you're FuNnY!!!  Thanks for the laughs!  ; D  Hey, don't forget to buy the WINNINGEST Quilt Mama Lottery Tickets for Saturday!!!  I added a Trader Joe's link to our blog for you. Check it out. And, the Ardmore store is right next to the Farmer's Market...where they have a Chaddsford Wine store!  Two birds with one stone...one, two, one, two, one, two...; 0

Peggy - GOOD to see you!!!  You & yours have been in our thoughts & prayers!

Cath - best wishes & prayers to your co-worker & her family.  Thanks for your email about the BMH names & the address.

LA - Praise be-e about your Mom!!!  That was GOOD news!  ; )  Thanks for driving me last evening. I appreciate it!

Dolores - glad you had a good time @ Disney!!!  Wasn't Soarin' unbelievable...dare I cay magical even?!  ; )

Mo - oooh!!!  I can't wait to SEE the NEW digs!!!  Glad to hear things are going relatively smoothly! It's exciting!!!  Your quilt is BEAUTIFUL!!!  : )  Thanks for sharing!

Lor - can you tell us the dates you & John will be in TX?  Do you guys need help with the kids or anything?  Do you have the table runner prepped to take along to stitch?

I added J. Hittle to our shopping links, ladies.  Their website is a bit tough to navigate, but worth the effort. They run weekly specials that are hard to beat!  This is the place I buy Schmetz needles in a box of 100. I've bought other things from their website too & have always had a positive experience.

Thanks girls for asking about our building plans.  And, for listening to our change plans!  I don't know that we'll be buying anything soon.  We're sort of thinking maybe in a year or so...?!

Are we having Bee next week?  Wednesday?  Where?!  There's still show 'n tell from the Beach...?! Plus, I'm sure there will be-e more by next week!!!???

Remember, room #34.  But, what was the waitresses name...?

Take care & enjoy your evening.

Birthday Celebration!!!

Don't forget tonight's dinner @ the Lamb Tavern! 6:45 girlie girls! : ) If I drive to someone's house can I go with you to the restaurant? Or, should we all meet somewhere & pile into the "quilting clown car...?!" I'll check back for a comment when I get up, so don't be-e surprised if you don't hear from me & I just show up @ your house.

Did anyone else receive the Hershey Quilt Odyssey class booklet? I'll make a copy & bring it along. There are some good classes listed!!! Karen is going to be teaching her latest-newest-not yet seen project!!!

See you soon! Enjoy your day.

Fat Tuesday

Good Morning Mama's,

Happy Fat Tuesday! That might be PHat Tuesday for some...?! I grew up anticipating Faschnaut Day. Our faschnauts were served with powdered sugar or molasses. Geez, I haven't had a faschnaut in decades!

Dolores - it was GOOD to hear from you! If you have Disney pix from your trip will you bring them along to the Lamb Tavern? Have you gotten to sew with Gracie yet since you're home?!

Does anyone know if Lois left for Ohio? Were they driving? I hope she took some hand stitching along with her!

Mare - enjoy this last few days of 49! ; )

Mo - I didn't email you, but I'm thinking you already know I'll be-e @ the Lamb Tavern tomorrow evening. Nine of us, right? I'm ordering a steak...!!! ; ) How's your kitchen coming along?

LA - it was good to hear from you too! : ) How's your Mom doing? What's the news with Sean? How's that Kevin baby? And the girls, Gerry & YOU?!

Alright ladies, time for me to fly! Take care & don't get blown away in a gust of wind!

Good Evening Girls,

How is everyone doing?!  We're ALL busy, no?!  When this ride stops don't put in another quarter, OK?!...

Work has been brutal!!!  The norovirus is EVERYWHERE!!!  I've washed my hands down to the bare bones!  The other day, I (mostly) undressed on our back stoop before entering the house - that's how BAD it is!!!  Plus, there's been the typical migraine, UTI, sore throat, "I had a fight with my room mate!," crazy thrown into the mixelplick!!!

We had a HVAC guy & contractor here this morning.  A different contractor is coming tomorrow morning.  They have been in our attic, out to the garage, in the basement & everywhere else in between!  Shelby & Jingle don't know what to think...?!

So, looks like we'll be doing Brigantine Bee Retreat planning via the web.  Does that work for you guys?  *I can be ready by 9'ish Friday morning.  *Can you tell me if we'll be-e stopping @ the Little Shop in Haddonfield en route?  *I can bring some M&M's & a bottle of wine.  *Is there a crock pot @ the Beach or should I make the oatmeal ahead of time so we can just reheat it? *Also, WaWa works for me!  Simple.  Easy.  Affordable.  What's not to like?!  ; )  *Who's going & when?!  *I'm bringing a Kaffe Fassett project that I cut & prepped nearly a year ago for a Beach weekend that didn't happen due to snow.  Plus, I am going to bring a small machine applique project.  And, a heart project inspired by Jean!  ; )

Lois - when are you heading out to Ohio?  Safe travels!!!  Take some stitching along for the trip!

Alright girls.  That does it for now!  Take care & be-e well!

Good Afternoon Girls,

I don't know about you, but I felt like I had a WHOLE lot of days rolled into seven last week.  I am hopeful that this week won't FEEL so jam packed.

Let's start with talking about this week...is there Bee?  Where?  When?  Who can come? Next, how 'bout Brigantine...who's going?  When?  What sewing projects are you going to bring? What shops are we going to & when?  What meals do we need to pack or plan for - do you want me to make my steel cut oatmeal recipe since there won't be any breakfast pizza what with Joe Byrnes in Florida...?!

Meanwhile, how do you think Dolores is adjusting to her mouse ears...?!  ; )  I think Valentine's Day in Disney could be especially magical...  Has anyone heard from her...?! And, is Jean sitting on the Beach?!  Did she get to the quilt shop she googled? Will she be @ the Beach 2 weekends in a row...?! Is that allowed?!  ; )

And, speaking of the Beach...we're there once again.  My "assignment" this week is to write down where I want to be in 10 years.  I've NEVER done this kind of thing for REAL!?  So, Scott & I are revisiting the topic of having a quilt shop @ the Beach...omg!

Enjoy today's SUNshine!!!  If you have a 3 day weekend - enjoy your X-tra day & make the most out of it!!!  : )  Take a few quiet stitches...

P.S.  Marianne - how is your sewing machine?!

Howdy Girls,

Gee, thanks for Bee this evening!!!  It's ALWAYS fun!!!  : )  There's SO much going on, it's hard to keep up!?  Thanks for hosting, Lori.

Mo - your quilt top is FABULOUS!!!  I really like the colors!  Thanks for sharing your kitchen renovation stories.  Glad if things are going well - such a great way to start!  ; )  We'll be anxious to see the finished results!!!

Mare - HOORAY!!!  Your sewing machine is fixed!!!  Your hand work is BEAUTIFUL!  I LOVE the embroidery - it's soft, gentle & lovely.  Nice job!  ; )  Your snowman block is CUTE too! And, the fat quarter bundle of red/black/white is gorgeous!  I think Mo's right about the contemporary print & colors being good for Joanna & Bill.  We SOON need to get cracking on their wedding quilt, girl friend!

Cath - I'm glad you're taking a hand applique class.  You seem to like it.  Next time, we need to see your show 'n tell too!  ; )  Are you working on the Bunny Hill blocks?  Is your snowman finished?  How's school going?  Do you mind doing 4 tens @ the hospital?  What are your hours?

Jean - I LOVE the flamingo quilt!!!  They're FuNnY!!!  ; )  Your Bunny Hill blocks are GREAT!  I really like your soft colored backgrounds.  Isn't this project FUN!?  Hey, have FUN @ Virginia Beach this weekend!!!  Nice.  ; )  Thanks for sharing the testosterone quilt article from the paper - amazing, huh?!

LA - glad to hear the good report on your Mom.  Praise be-e!!!  ; )  Thanks for bringing the wine!  Don't you just HATE to rip stitches...?!  : /  Sorry about the frustration...don't quilt that...it needs to be filled with snuggle love!  ; )

Lois - hang in there with your Mom & family.  Glad if you have the diversions of sewing & gardening to occupy you. Thanks for sharing the plants!  : )  Your Disappearing 9 Patch is beautiful!  I LOVE the colors!!!  So pretty & soft.  The yellows for another TATW quilt are HAPPY!  And, I like your Bunny Hill snowman block too!  Great job!

Lor - the foot print wall hanging was a neat-o idea for the teeny boppers to do!  ; )  Your table runner is cute, cute!  I like the colors.  I like your Bunny Hill blocks too!  Way to sew!

Dolores - you were missed!  We're hoping your packing by now...including your Mouse Ears!!!  ; )  Have FUN, girl friend!!!

Peggy - we've been thinking of you & your family.  Hope you are taking care.  : )

Thanks for the Jingle bags, ladies.  He is the s#i*t%n^e/s beast - EVER!!!  Thanks also for looking @ my show 'n tell stuff too.  The schnibble thang was a fun project to do!  I do like the studio Churn Dash quilt - don't know that I'll sew with home dec weight & corduroy again any time too soon?!  The Bunny Hill blocks are just plain FUN!!!  : )  The settings I use for my machine blanket stitch (#45 on my Bernina 440) are; width:  2.0 going down to 1.4 @ points & length:  2.0  I used a rayon thread for the blanket stitch & grey YLI soft touch in the bobbin. New to me, I've been threading the "finger" on my bobbin to have better control over tension. It seems to give me a nicer looking stitch, & I have not been using a stabilizer (exam table paper) on the back each time...still playing around with this though...

Time to go get ready for work.  If I've missed anything, please chime in!?

Hiya Girls,

I'm looking forward to Bee tomorrow evening.  : )  Thanks for offering to host, Lori.  I can hardly wait to see ALL the show 'n tell...!?

Mare - did you pick up your sewing machine today?  Did you & Joe have dinner out?  Where...the Wind Mill then over to the winery..?!  ; )  What fabrics did you get on Saturday?  The bundle of red/black/white sounds great!  Did you get the fabric Mo NEEDED?!

Lor - I use Elmer's school glue to hold my applique shapes in place.  I use either the glue stick or the actual liquid glue that I heat set with an iron.  The table runner sounds cute. Doesn't Kim Diehl have the nicest designs & patterns?  I love her fabric choices too!

Jean - how are your flamingos?!

I finished sewing the borders to the Donor Quilt.  Technically, we could possibly pin baste it tomorrow evening if any of us were so inclined or motivated to do so...

I finished my Schnibble.  It's kinda cute.  It gave me something to do with charm packs!

Until tomorrow evening.  Enjoy this break in the weather.  Take a couple stitches!

Good Evening Girls,

You guys make me smile...& laugh!  : )  Thanks for that!  I have to say I like the "S trifecta" of Sisters, Suds & Seams.

So glad to hear that you peeps have been out & about enjoying the good weather!  Nice.  The road trips sounded excellent!  Thanks for sharing.  ; )

Mare - can I tell you how much better I feel knowing you got your machine to Hinkletown!!! What's the scoop?  Did you pick it up today?  Is it fixed?  Have you sewed with it yet?  What was the problem?!  How did Nicole's interview go?  Did you get to a quilt shop too?  How 'bout a winery...?!

Thanks for liking my 2nd Bunny Hill block, girls.  I'm like all twinkle toed peeing myself waiting & then making the blocks.  It's a bit cRaZy...  I deleted my blocks by accident on Flick'r. Then, I re-posted them.  I'm a little daft learning new technology, but I'm trying.

So, are we having Bee this week?  Wednesday?  @ Lori's?  It sounds like there's show 'n tell?!
Let me know...

BOM #2

Hello There Q'Mama's,

: ) It's bitter COLD outside today. Be careful out there! Make a nice hot cup of tea.

The second Bunny Hill block has been posted!!! Hooray! I am REALLY liking this project. Hurry up! I have planned to use the same background AND basket fabrics each month, but use different fabrics for the "items" that fill the monthly basket. What are you guys going to do?

Last night's Bee was "just what the Dr. ordered." ; ) There were some tears, some raised voices, LOTS of laughter & enough estrogen to go around. I can not begin to tell you girls how much I appreciate your sharing with me & you allowing me to share with you too! It gives each of us a place to "go" with "stuff." GENTLE!!!

Mo - thanks for hosting us last night. We are a rowdy bunch! I am SEW impressed with your skill & accomplishments!!!
: ) You totally surprised me!

Mare - have fun in Lancaster on Saturday! Best of luck with your machine! Your quilt top is nice. Way to SEW!

Dolores - thanks for getting us started on the Donor Quilt. I'll work on borders for it this weekend...if I'm not too busy with the new BOM...shhh, don't tell!? ; )

The Brigantine Bee Beach Weekend has bee-n set for the 20th!!! Mark your calendars & start planning your sewing projects! Save some $ for a trip or 2 to a quilt shop or 2...

LA - the quilt for your Mom is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! We will be praying (extra!) for her & your family tomorrow. Keep us posted. Be brave.

Take a couple stitches when you get the chance! Or, browse through a quilting magazine or pet your fabric! Better yet, wrap up in a quilt today!

Let it snow - DOG...?!

Good White Morning Girls!

Do your kids have school today? Do you have to go to work or can you take a "snow day" too?! ; ) Make a snow angel, build a snow(wo)man, throw snowballs & what about sledding too...?!

Well, Scott & I made it into work alright. Now for the trip HOME!!! Once we get home, we have shoveling to do. Somehow snow isn't nearly as fun when you're an "adult!" : / That's NOT fair. I'm sure Jingle will liven things up though. Yesterday he was growing an icicle beard & VERY pleased with himself!!!

Mo - I do not know if I'll be @ Bee this evening. Kind of depends on our morning & what things look like when we get up this evening. Can you comment & confirm that you're still planning to host?

For those Mama's doing the Bunny Hill BOM - the next block should be posted tomorrow morning!!! I don't know about you guys, but I'm chomping @ the bit!

Any status on a Bee Beach weekend yet?

Dolores - how's the donor quilt coming? You go!!! ; )

Any other news, girls?

LA & Lois - how are your Mom's doing? I've been sending + juju! ; )

Take care, be-e warm & stay safe!

And, Happy Ground Hog Day...!!!??? Only in PA, right? ; ) Punxsutawney Phil must HATE this day! I'd like to state for the record, I don't want 6 more weeks of Winter. : /

How 'bout that football game?! Heard it was GOOD up to the VERY end!!!

Enjoy your day. Stitch when you get the chance. Hey, does anyone know if Dolores found block #17? I FELT her pain!
