a squishy Monday

Hello, ladies. Hope you had a nice weekend. Dinner on Friday was a lot of fun! Cath and Peggy - we missed you. Cath - hope you're feeling better. The food was good, as usual and plenty of laughs and catching up on everyone's news, kids, husbands, new nephews, etc! Lois - how did you make out at the dentist on Saturday - hope you're all fixed up. Pam, Dolores, Lori and I headed up to the Lancaster quilt show on Saturday. It was really nice!! I liked the new venue - three floors in one building. We parked in a garage about a half a block away, walked up the alley and we were at the front door - better than slogging through all that muddy grass at the Host! Some really stunning quilts. Lots of nice vendors - the sections of quilts were kind of broken up by groups of vendors - it was kind of nice - a little break to shop and then back to more beautiful quilts. Saw the Lizzie B girls' booth - it was the cutest by far. Lori and I ran into Mama Barb and saw a brag book of Rocco pictures - a ton of blond hair - what a cutie!! After lunch, Pam went to find Mama Barb (her ride) and the three of us decided to go to Liberty Place - they had more quilts and vendors there. We decided to follow the shuttle bus over - the problem was picking the right shuttle bus to follow - we didn't! So we just continued on the Continental to see the other vendors. It was quiet there - not as many vendors but I think I spent more there than at the show! Next year we'll make it to Liberty Place. Yesterday was an arctic track meet - Consuelo have you thawed out - boy, it was chilly! What's on tap for this week? I'm sorry I can't host - we have things every night - and this is Holy Week - oy! I almost have my peeps banner finished - I'll post a picture when it's up. Hope the Easter Bunny visits y'all. Pam - do you and Scott still have egg wars? I found the list that I made about the Evergreen house last year - I made notes to make sure we bring:

saran wrap/foil
small soaps for the powder rooms, etc.
paper plates and plastic cups - we don't want to do dishes!
extension cord - or two
power strip
small table

As we get closer - we can blog about what we're bringing - and I'll try to host a planning session next week. Have a lovely week, girls. The weather is supposed to be spectacular later in the week and Easter weekend. Take care.....piece.

Happy Windsday...as Pooh would say....

Hello, mamas! How is everyone? Feels like an eon since we've met.....what's new? The weekend was glorious - did anyone accomplish anything on National Quilting Day? I have works in progress - nothing completed. I've been having total ADD - starting a few things and not finishing. Hope to turn that around by the weekend. Dinner in just two more days - can't wait!! I hope everyone can make it - we can arrange rides through the comments, ok? Mare - how is school - and how did you make out with your machine? Pam - have you guys seen Rocco since his 'birthday'? How is Mama Barb? How's the FMQ going? Lori - are those contractors done yet? Hope you don't have them for Easter too! LA - what's happening? How was the pancake breakfast? Are your bags by the door? Lois - have you gotten out in the garden? Cath - how many more weeks? I know you're counting....do you get a break during Holy Week? Consuelo - it's been months since I've seen you? How's track going? I hear there are twins expected in your extended family - momma mia!!!! Dolores - did you give the awesome quilt to your work 'sister' yet? I truly love those colors. Peggy - you out there? Hello? I hope you can come to dinner on Friday? Even if you come for dessert.....enjoy this windy, spring day ladies. Did you happen to see the peep tutorial here? It is awesome......another ADD moment......makes me think of Bunny Hops. LA - did you make our reservations? Well....hoping for the answers to these and many other questions on Friday night....piece.

11 and 25

Hello, ladies......how were your weekends? Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and 60 - yahoo! The rain over the weekend was outrageous - but I kept thinking - at least it's not snow!!! The shovels are still in the shed and that's where they belong - until next year! Anyone still tired from losing an hour on Saturday? Only 11 days till our dinner at the Lamb....I'm really looking forward to it......and the really important number - 25 - number of days till Lancaster. I'm already starting lists of what I want to sew and what I need to buy. Over the weekend, I finished the binding on this baby quilt - I'm delivering it tomorow.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to those who will be celebrating - and Happy St. Joseph's Day to Joe DeMarco.....enjoy the extra daylight after dinner....piece.

Rainy....but still Friday!

Hello, ladies. How is everyone on this soggy day? A small but mighty bee the other night - Mare, Pam, Lois and myself. Lots of chatting - not much show & tell. Pam told us the tale of Rocco's birth. Congrats to Mama Barb and the whole fam. Check out Pam's blog to see some cute pictures!!! Speaking of pictures - Lois had a couple of adorable shots of Donovan and Ainsley - they are getting so big! Cath - did Kerry get a dress? Hope you enjoyed your break week - although you were probably writing lots of papers. Hope everyone else is doing well.....I had an interesting morning. Came in early and walked on the treadmill, was getting cleaned up and dressed, pulled on my jeans and wow, they were roomy - oh, no - oh, yes - I'd packed a pair of Burkie's jeans. How did they get in my drawer -and what do I do now? Since sitting at my desk in my undies is out of the question, I put his on, rolled them up and went to work. At lunchtime, I drove home, got changed and things are back to normal. Of course, it cost me $7. When I called Burkie, who was working at home, to tell him what happened, he mentioned how nice it would be if I picked up a hoagie for his lunch - since I was coming home anyhow. OY! I hope y'all have a nice weekend. How exciting is it that the counter now says days - not months?! Piece....

Addendum: Dinner reservations have been made for Friday, March 26th at 6:45 at the Lamb. Bee there or bee talked about!

A spring day?

Putting the chairs on the porch - and sitting on them for a while......taking a walk with my ipod.......grilling burgers for dinner......and best of all - sewing for a couple of hours in the afternoon while listening to the Phillies.......I feel like my soul woke up.....hoping you had a wonderful weekend! Piece.......

PS - welcome back to Maureen and Matt!

Just ahead - a taste of spring...

Hey, girls.....I hear it's going to be at least 50+ this weekend - and sunny. I can hardly contain myself. Yahoo! A very nice bee last night - myself, Lois, Dolores and Mare. We missed those who weren't there. There was some terrific show & tell also.....

This is Dolores - just using up her flannel scraps - isn't it great - and so soft!

This is a baby quilt by Lois - it is so cute! The pictures are just precious....

Three babies coming for Lois' nieces - love the pinks.....

And this is for a boy - it has the cutest blue train flannel on the back....

And this one is fantastic - Dolores made this for her 'twin sister' at work. The colors are so vibrant - I'd seen this line in the Hancock's book - but the pictures don't do it justice. It is just wonderful - and she will love it!!!!

Wow - very inspirational.....what's up with everyone else? We decided on our night at the Lamb - Friday, March 26th! Is 6:30 ok? 7:00? Let me know what you think. I'll make the reservations. I'm really looking forward to it. Mare finished sewing down the binding on her patriotic baby quilt while we were sitting and chatting. I think the shower is this weekend. Pam - any news on Clark and Hillary's baby? I saw the little mat you made on your blog - very cool. I'm sure Maureen and Matt are having a ball this week with Mickey. LA - how's things in the McCabe house - everyone well? Lor - basketball should be over soon, right? Just in time for track......Cath - are you hanging in with school? When is your spring break? How are Mike and the kids? How about Peggy commenting on the blog?! Awesome - good to hear from you Peg - when is your sping break? Hope you get a chance to relax. I think that's it ladies....Enjoy these upcoming nice days - we deserve them!!!! Piece.....

Only two weeks....

till daylight savings time - yahoo!!! I can't wait for that. It always feels like we've turned the corner to spring when it's still light after dinner. I'm able to host on Wednesday evening but that ugly, four letter word is being spoken by the weather folks for Wednesday - OY! If they are wrong - and I pray that they are - I'll be here and you are most welcome. Mare - hope you had a nice birthday weekend. Have you heard from the Florida travelers? I pulled out a bright, springy honey bun (is that the one that's half the width of a jelly roll?) tonight and it's very cheerful. I hope it works with this pattern I have - only one way to find out.....back to the bat cave......have a nice day tomorrow.....piece.
