Happy Memorial Day weekend!

Taking a moment on the eve of the 'unofficial' start of summer to appreciate what's to come. This is my very favorite time of year....it is full of promise. There are so many summer days stretched out in front of us. It reminds me of the feelings on the last day of school as a kid! Wishing you all a lovely weekend - a water ice, sitting on the porch, a bbq, looking at the ocean, time in a hammock...however you celebrate - enjoy!!

Peace....1000 posts.....what an achievement! Here's to us!

999!!!!

This is post #999! How about that? Pam's first post was October 11, 2006.....and here it is 2013. For the 1000th post, I thought there should be a little giveaway. But no random number picking here. It's time to test your Quiltmama memory. The person with the highest score while answering the following questions will be the winner. You can email me your answers and I will tally the scores. The contest remains open until next Monday - our 1,000th post will contain the winner. That also gives me a week to get the prize together!! Good luck - Consuelo - please don't look things up for anyone in the Chronicles - even if money if offered!!

Happy Mother's Day....

Ladies - wishing you all a Happy Mother's Day....no matter the age or species of our children, we all nurture them throughout the year - it's the most important job in the world! Take a moment (or many) this weekend to accept their appreciation for what you do.

And a note of appreciation for the mamas as we nurture each other throughout the rest of the year when this job becomes a little overwhelming and our charges aren't as lovable!!

Thanks to Cathy for hosting bee on Thursday - just me! We had a nice chat about lots of things - mostly not quilt-related! Anyhow......here are two show & tell pictures:

This is a little quilt that Lori made for her Mom for Mother's Day - so cute! She got her a little stand too.

This is Cathy's scrappy trips quilt.....it is huge! Such, soft pretty colors.

That's it ladies...enjoy the weekend! Peace....

Tea was exquisite!

We were seated in a lovely upstairs room!

The table setting was just gorgeous! The china, the sugar cubes, cinnamon sticks - all the little bits. We felt like both little girls playing dress-up and sophisticated woman all at the same time. There were lovely purses, china cups, teapots, lamps, scarves, necklaces all around us....

And look at this plate....we were served this after we'd begun our first cups of Irish Breakfast tea.....so pretty! Each morsel was just as tasty as is was beautiful.....

Finishing this plate, we began the white chocolate mousse tea - it was delightful - especially with a vanilla puff. We were thinking we were finished, when our desserts came. Oy - the elastic pants would have been helpful!

Such a splendid way to while away the afternoon. We did a bit of shopping - a couple of mamas came home with royal wedding tea. Maureen gave the owner some business advice and we sat for a few minutes in their beautiful back garden, soaking up the sun. Consuelo has decided to forgo the Lamb for her special birthday Quiltmama meal to go back to the Painted Teacup. Stay tuned!

Cathy has offered to host bee this Thursday - hope to see you there. Happy Monday!!!

Peace

Tomorrow's the day!

Pinkie up, ladies.....looking forward to scones, tea and more good times with the mamas! Lois - can you come to my house at noon? Ladies - I'll be around to pick you all up a little after noon. Thanks!
Peace....

Strange how a teapot can represent at the same time the comforts of solitude and the pleasures of company.  ~Author Unknown
