Hey, ladies. How is everyone? Can you believe this is the last week of October? What the heck. Christmas Eve is 8 weeks from tomorrow! Did that just give you a little angina? A little OMG....I have to start shopping. The first time I hear something like that on the radio, I have a tiny panic attack...thinking, 'I'm already behind'!! And then it settles down - and I buy my Halloween candy!
Speaking of Halloween - any good costumes this year? What about those McCabe boys? Here are a couple of pictures I found online - these are pretty good.
It took me a while to get that first one. I love group costumes. Have a nice day....Happy Halloween - don't get a tummy ache from too much candy. Peace.....
Another fun night at the Lamb, despite the fact, as was pointed out repeatedly, we were not in our regular room. Dolores was quite happy with the absence of the mirrors. And it was kind of nice not having that creepy picture looking at us! They changed the menu and there was no Shrimp Lejon - oy! Despite all this, we soldiered on. Cathy and Leigh Anne - you were missed. Our prodigal quilter returned!! Peggy came - so nice to see her. Thanks to Pam for coming to celebrate with us (and Scott for bringing her!). They had a whirlwind day that started in York, went through Lancaster and on to the the Lamb before returning to Lewes.
This is Pam trying to figure out who did which block....
The amazement of finding out that Maureen made the mermaid block in the center square - our own Paul Lynde! (That's for the oldies in the group!) It is fabulous!
The label is awesome! Thanks, LA.
Ladies - thanks for all the laughs. It was nice to catch up on everyone's news. It's nearly seven years since our first dinner at the Lamb to present the 'naked lady' quilt. That's just amazing. A lot has happened during those years and we're lucky to have had each other to share the ups and downs. Here's to many, many more. Although - if they don't get the Shrimp Lejon back, we may have to switch celebration venues....just sayin'.....peace.
To those who are off today.....enjoy your day! How is everyone? Did you have a nice weekend? We are halfway through October already...oy! The beginning of the school year seems like ages ago and yesterday all at the same time! Need to start thinking about Christmas gifts and sewing......at this time of year, my list and intentions are usually quite large. In the coming weeks, the realities of time and other responsibilities will chip away at that list - but for now, it's fun to contemplate a 'Martha Stewart' kind of Christmas with dozens of hand-made gifts.
I like this idea - if you are looking to carve your own pumpkin....
Looking forward to our quilting weekend. Is this what we look like?
Take it easy, ladies.....see you soon!
On a personal note, I'd like to congratulate Erin Burke on receiving her acceptance letter for Widener University.....way to go, kiddo!!!
Hope you have a fantastic day!!! All the best.....
Didn't get to post yesterday....such a crazy day. Hope you all had a nice weekend! Anyone go to Haverford Township day? Saw the DiNardo's there. LA was doing her part to help a friend - and Gerry was cementing his place in the Dad Hall of Fame - awesome!!! Hope to catch up soon......remember the tentative date for Pam's b-day dinner - 10/20 - in the afternoon. Thanks.....peace!
