Sunday evening....
Hey, ladies.....the contented sighs you may be hearing are probably coming from both Upland Road and Parkside Drive. Gracie and Bernadette came back from the spa yesterday - yahoo!! Haven't heard from Dolores (she is probably completing her second quilt top) but mine is running like a champ - smooth, quiet - feels great! I'm working on a little wallhanging - love finishing those quick projects. Did you all have a nice weekend? Pam - very productive road trip - what a haul! Back to the grind tomorrow - one week closer to Lancaster - will have to start a little countdown. I'm sorry I can't host this week - between meetings and basketball - I have something every night. I'm tired and the week hasn't started yet! Take care.....hope you're working on future show & tell. Piece.....

the backside of January....
A happy Wednesday to all! We are coming into the home stretch of January and I am always happy to see the end of this month. I don't know if it's the post-holiday letdown or the freezing temps but I always dread January and am very happy to turn that calendar page. We had a nice bee the other night....missed those who weren't here. Consuelo - hope things are well in casa de Henderson. Dolores - any word on Gracie yet? Gracie is having a spa treatment at Hayes - along with Bernadette (my machine)....both getting a well-deserved rest. Did you ever give Kitty her quilt? Lor - how are the renovations coming along? LA - it was great to see you - cute new glasses! Cathy and Pam were enjoying their last evening before resuming school and work. Hope it wasn't too painful. The prototype sock monkey made his debut - he's even cuter in person!!Mare has also started back to school - and already has an A in Abnormal Psychology....guess who she's bringing for show & tell!? Lois got a beautiful basket kit from Connecting Threads - have you started it yet? I broke out Eleanor (the Elna) in Bernadette's absence and made 8 pillow cases on Sunday - we dropped them at Steve's on Monday afternoon for ConKerr cancer - I met Lizzie of Lizzie B - and she signed my book! It was a very exciting moment for me - Erin and Kelly were trying very hard not to laugh at my complete dorkiness. What are parents for if not to embarrass their offspring. Here are a few show & tell pictures:
Cathy's top from Brigantine - finished with a great red flannel back - it lives in the family room and gets lots of use.
Lois made this adorable classic Pooh baby blanket. And she has three babies coming along in the spring - she'll be cranking out some quilts!

And this is Pam's Bunny Hill Block of the month from last year. It is really terrific! Each block is so cute - and has something interesting for you to find. And, she has already made the first snowman block or this year! You are Bunny Hill's woman of the year!
Pam also had her Flower Pots top with her - it is just phenomenal! She has some pictures on Flickr - but it's hard to capture it properly in a picture - it is truly spectacular - and thanks so much for sharing it with us. I think that about wraps it up. Lots of laughs, ladies....as always, thank you. Enjoy the rest of your week.......the days are getting slightly longer - that's a hopeful sign. Piece.....
For those who haven't heard - Bill and Joanna are expecting a BOY!!!! Congrats to everyone! Does this make us great aunts? I think we're pretty great!!!!!

Wednesday.....
Hello, 'mamas! Long time so see.....how is everyone? What is happening in Quiltmama-land? Sorry I've been a little lax with the posting. Back to work this week...oy! Making me tired.....I did have a chance to cruise around blogland a bit. Have you seen Pam's sock monkeys? They are so so so cute!! They remind me of a pack of fruit stripe gum - can't wait to see them in person. Cath - have you started back to school? Are all the college students back? SJU students come back next Tuesday. Our basketball schedule is a little crazy - how about bee next Monday - it's a holiday - not sure who's off - but let's try to get together - I'll host. Feels like we haven't seen each other in quite a while. I've only worked on a small Valentine's wallhanging. I did see this craft site: http://kari-youcanmakeit.blogspot.com/2009/12/ucreates-top-ten-for-2009.html - check out the book shelves in the kid's room - made out of rain gutters - adorable! Did anyone make New Year's resolutions? I read this and thought it was interesting: http://christinekane.com/blog/resolution-revolution-a-better-way-to-start-your-year/ - I picked a word - Moment - as in be in the moment, slow down and take a moment to savor/realize/appreciate. What would your word be? Hope to see y'all on Monday evening.....enjoy the rest of the week.....piece.

Things settling down?
Mamas.....how is everyone? Hope things have settled down for everyone after the holidays. The decorations are so nice but I must admit, I love when everything is put away and the house looks back to normal - and tidier. Doesn't stay that way for long but I enjoy it for a bit. There have been some neat pictures on lots of blogs. I didn't want to post this picture before George opened it on Christmas - but here is the quilt Lois made for him. Isn't it awesome!? I'm sure he treasures it. Nice work, Lois.
Hope y'all are keeping warm. I'm sorry I can't host this week. Here's today's advice from 'Butter My Butt and Call Me a Biscuit' - Don't beat a hornet's nest with a short stick. Words to live by......hey - I'm thinking of dumping my website and just having a flickr page - I put a link under Non-sewing Sites of Interest - if you get a a chance, check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks.....piece.
