Neither rain, nor snow, nor dark of night....
Girls...what do you think? Who is still in tomorrow night? I'm willing to walk, if necessary....kidding - but only a little. Consuelo - how are you about driving? I'm happy to drive also......let me know your thoughts. This has been a tough week and I"m really looking forward to a night out.....but I want everyone to be comfortable about it - and don't want anyone to miss it because of slippery conditions. We can reschedule to next Friday too......shout out your answers....no need to raise your hand. Thanks.....

Resolved
Due to the overwhelming concensus (thank you, Consuelo), I called Cascata Cafe and made the reservations - 6:45 next Friday, 1/28. This is a byob restaurant - so pack up your bottles and bring them along if you are so inclined. Lois - I'm happy to give you a ride if you like - or anyone else....thanks! Have a lovely weekend!! A Curveball.....
Ladies - believe it or not - the Lamb is closed!! It's being renovated and will reopen on March 6th. What!!! And they didn't call us.....I'm shocked. So - now we have to pick a new spot for Lois' birthday extravaganza. Any thoughts, ideas, preferences? Cascata Cafe is right near there - that's very nice....or JB Dawson's - also very nice. What do we think? I don't get out much....so you all may have some better suggestions. Thanks......

An official night out....
Well, ladies......the date is set to celebrate Lois' birthday! Next Friday, January 28th - the day before the big day itself. We''ll head to the Lamb (unless you have another favorite place, Lois)....shall we say 6:45. Please let me know as soon as you can if you are able to attend...I'll make the reservations and we'll be all set. Now - pray for no snow and some nice, warm, southerly breezes. Take care and be safe......piece.
Wednesday - Lots of Quiltmama congratulations to Tim DiNardo. Tonight he was named Fireman of the Year for Upper Darby Township! Yay! Congrats, Tim - well deserved. Your family is proud and so are we!!

The stage is set.....
the date is picked......ta dah! Yes, ladies, we're headed to Lancaster the weekend of April 8/9/10. Yay! Let the ticker begin...(whenever you get a chance, LA). I'll make the reservations tomorrow and we should be all set. Hope you're all having a good week. Sean McCabe turned 6 this week - a shout out to him. He also got a stomach bug that day - what a lousy gift. Hope he's feeling better and none of the other McCabes got that little present. LA - how's your grandpop doing? Something else to keep in mind....there is a special Quiltmama birthday coming up at the end of this month - and that means another trip to the Lamb!! Please take a look at your calendars and we can start to think about dates. Should I call ahead to make sure Rich (?was that his name) is still working there? Anyhow.....hope you all have a nice weekend and we have no more snow for a while (about 12 months or so....) Take care....piece.

Good news....
Well, knock me down and steal my teeth....I was at the Springfield mall today and they had this year's Butter My Butt and Call Me a Biscuit calendar - and it was half-price!!! It's a good thing because I'm as broke as the Ten Commandments. Got it home and perused it and there are some real gems....one from this past week:
Carelessness - that's like goin' skinny dippin' with snappin' turtles. Personally, I think that could be used for stupidity as well.
Dolores and I cruised down to Hayes' yesterday to pick up Bernadette - Hallelujah!! Did lots of sewing last night - she's as good as new.
Haven't heard from anyone about the April date for Lancaster. I think Dolores, Cathy, myself and LA are in....Maureen? Mare? Lori? Lois? Pam?
Hope y'all have a lovely week......I think there's more snow in the forecast. Be careful out there! Piece.......

Bee-ing there....
Hey, girls.....a very nice bee last night. Thanks to Cathy for hosting. It was terrific, as always, to see Tim, Kerry and Mike. Lori - heard you're a little under the weather. Hope you're feeling better. Pam was working and Mare was having a romantic dinner at her house....enough about that! Cathy had two beautiful quilts - a scrappy I-spy quilt for the little guy across the street who's turning two and she finished quilting the red and white beauty she made in Lancaster - it's backed with red&white flannel - so cozy! And, apparently, it's for little people. Lois had an adorable picture of her grandkids - so cute and getting so big! And she also had a beautiful table runner that Kara made her for Christmas - batiks, flowers, cranes, dargonflies - it was just gorgeous. I brought my almost-finished curtains for Erin's room and a little bag that I made for Kelly - for Christmas. LA came after having dinner with her grandparents at Lankenau - and gave us a little glimpse of what we're going to be like when we get old! Dolores continues to look terrific. And Consuelo told of adventures with Frank! A lot of laughs, as always. We talked briefly about dates for the spring Lancaster getaway. How is the weekend of April 8-9-10 with everyone? It's two weeks before Easter. Let me know - and I'll book as soon as we decide - we need that new ticker, a carrot if you will, to get through the upcoming winter weeks. Thanks.....Dolores and I are headed down to Hayes on Saturday to retrieve Bernadette from her spa treatment......give me a shout if you want to tag along......piece......
PS - check out the Stash Manicure blog - the post from yesterday, 1/5/11 - it's pretty cool - the 'Top 10 Reasons to Sew a Handmade Quilt'.
