Bon mots on Monday

Good morning, ladies!! Happy Monday and Happy Presidents' Day! Thank you all for coming to the tea yesterday...Pam and LA - we missed you. It was nice to catch up with everyone!

The ladies......

Here's the recipe for 'Best Ever Chocolate Cake'.....

3 c. flour
2 c. sugar
6 T. baking cocoa
2 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
2 c. water
2/3 c. vegetable oil
2 t. white vinegar
2 t. vanilla extract

Combine first five ingredients in a bowl. Add the water, oil, vinegar and vanilla. Beat on low for 1 minute. Beat on medium for 1 minute.
Pour into a greased 13x9x2 pan. Bake at 350 for 35 to 38 minutes - test for doneness. Cool on rack.

Frosting

1 c. cold milk
1 pkg (3.9 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix ** chocolate is good too**
1 tub cool whip

Beat the pudding mix and milk for 2 minutes. Beat in the whipped topping. Spread over the cake. Refrigerate.

Lois brought some of her scrappy trip around the world blocks - really terrific. Can't wait to see the finished quilt - it's for a very special couple - I won't say more until it's official!
