Happy Monday!

Good morning, ladies. First, congratulations to Sean McCabe for receiving his First Communion yesterday! He looked so handsome in his white suit....and kudos to Leigh Anne and Gerry for a lovely party and allowing us to celebrate their fine young man.

Lori has offered to host bee this Wednesday...thanks, Lor. Hope to see you all there.

Tea is fast approaching on Saturday.....I'm so looking forward to it! Gloves are not required.....Maureen is considering wearing a fascinator however!

Saw this on Pinterest......it's really cool....

Got an email from Pam - she and Scott are settling into their new space nicely - and the yard sale was a big success. She notes that Karen won best of show in Paducah quilt show last week - awesome!!

I've purchased fabric from Burgundy Buttons a few times recently - it's a nice site and they are having a 20% sale this week...check it out!

I'll leave you with this.....

Tough to top that! Peace.....

something quilty...

Haven't posted anything quilty in a while. This is a quilted shield - it's for Claire's benefit. Her nickname is the Warrior Princess - and she loves her stuffed elephant. That shamrock fabric around the outside is a ruffle. Have a nice day......peace.

Various Friday thoughts....

It has been an interesting week.....have a few thoughts knocking around in my head.....

Still trying to process the horror of the events on Monday.....incredible sadness, righteous anger, heartsickness.....reading the stories of heroic citizens, watching the Boston Bruins crowd sing the national anthem the following evening and other images have helped restore my faith in humanity. Humans are truly blessed with 'superhuman' strength when needed.

Saw LA happily (?) boarding the eighth grade class trip bus this morning at Sacred Heart! Hope they're having a great day in NYC. Spotted Fitz too...

Worried about a good friend's health problem/concern - prayers were offered.

Cardinal O'Hara's prom is this evening - wishing all prom-goers a fun and safe night!!

Felt a tremendous frustration with the senators who voted against background checks for folks purchasing guns - seems like a common-sense idea, which 90% of the American people support. Just finished writing to each of those 46 senators to express that frustration - using words like moral cowardice.....does is make a difference? I doubt it - but silence accomplishes nothing.

This is our 992nd post.....how about that?

Got a bill from the ambulance company today - $1013 - ouch. The funniest part - the bill was $963 for the ride - and $50 for mileage - really?

Enough thinking.....seems a good evening to perhaps sit on the front porch with a Corona and think happier thoughts......wishing you all a great weekend! Peace.....

Will leave you with this.....

Monday? Funday?

Not usually.....so I'm here to cheer you up. First - thank you all for your messages and wishes last week - I could not be more grateful for each of you....you ladies truly are my family.

First - this is for Consuelo.....

This one is just because it's funny....lego office party!

This week my goal is to be kind to people - not let them irritate me.....if they bug me, just say....

And remember......

Hope you smiled......have a lovely week. Back soon with some quilty stuff. Peace.....

Happy Monday morning......

It is just beautiful today! An excellent way to start the week. I wanted to mention a tutorial I'd found on Pat Sloan's site - and I'm having trouble finding it again - but anyhow, it was a quick and easy way to do a label on your quilt. I did it on my tickets quilt and it took very little time. I cut a 5" square, ironed it in half to make a triangle. Pin it in one corner on the back of your quilt on the bottom, matching up the raw edges. You sew it in place when you put the binding on. You only have to hand stitch the top once you're done. It's really quick. Browsing through Pinterest, came across these two thoughts - both kind of mean the same thing - just two different ways of looking at it......

Peace......

A lovely chat.....

A very nice bee on Thursday night.....Lois, Cathy, Marianne, Maureen and myself. Thanks to Cathy for hosting. Lois' son Sean is engaged! He popped the question on Good Friday - in a field where they met. So nice.....the wedding will be at the end of next summer. Yay! Maureen is already planning dress shopping with Lois! Maureen's nephew got engaged also - the wedding is this year as he's in the Coast Guard - and you know Consuelo is going to be in high gear. And as if it couldn't get any better - prom season is coming up.....oy! Sean McCabe has a special day coming up too - he's making his First Communion. We had some lovely show & tell....

This is Lois' scrappy trip around the world - it's beautiful - maybe a wedding present?

Cathy is doing one too - such soft, pretty colors and a great way to use up scraps!

I needed a quick gift and made this table runner from a charm pack - very springy!

It was nice to catch up.....going to have a sewing day later on in the spring - more on that later on. Hope you all have a lovely weekend - I believe spring has finally arrived! Peace.....

Monday Malaise.....

Anyone else have a sugar hangover?  Oy! Hope you all had a nice Easter! I'm hoping that spring really starts this week.....enough cold and damp weather already! Saw this on pinterest and it reminded me of Consuelo....

We need to get some thing else scheduled so I can change the ticker...it's depressing to look at it now.  Cathy has offered to host bee on Thursday night....perhaps we can think of something then. Have a nice week.....and here's an idea for that leftover candy......

Peep sushi......

Peace
