Happy Birthday!!!!!

Happy Birthday, Mare!!!! Wishing you a lovely day, with DeMarcos waiting on you hand and foot. Take it easy and enjoy yourself......can it really be a year since we were at the Lamb Tavern celebrating your last birthday? I don't know about you ladies, but I can't believe it's been that long - and it calls for another Quiltmama dinner at the Lamb. I'm sure they miss us as much as we miss them. I'm truly ready to celebrate the end of this ugly winter. How about if we pick a night in a couple of weeks and head to the Lamb for a nice evening? I was thinking of a Wednesday - Cathy has no school - and it's not a track night - what do you think? Would Friday be better because of not getting up the next day? How about March 24th or 26th? LA - Erin is available for babysitting if Gerry has something. Safe travels to Consuelo and Matt - winging their way to Mickey's house. Wish we were all going!!! Have a blast! Hoping you're all having a nice weekend. I'm in denial about any more snow - I just refuse to think about it. I'm having spring daydreams........piece.......

a much-needed bee....

Hello, ladies. Boy, we needed that bee! It was a welcome little estrogen/quilting boost. We had some lovely show & tell. This is Pam's pastel bubbles quilt...so pretty. She was looking for quilting advice and it was nice to discuss it - creativity flowing!

She finished her Santa's Blessings quilt - this is just terrific! The quilting is wonderful - and really compliments the applique.

Cathy made this cute baby quilt - lots of fire engines and fire hydrants.

And Mare made this patriotic baby quilt for Joe's niece who is expecting her first in a few months but her husband is being deployed so the shower was moved up. She said it's an Eleanor Burns pattern and went together really quickly.

Let's see - what else did we talk about? Lois was not feeling well and didn't make it - but I'm happy to report that I stopped by to see her today and she's feeling lots better and Susie is back from her Hayes spa treatment and is feeling better too! Good news. We heard some funny stories from the House of Halligan - they never run out of material - it's better than most reality shows! Mare is taking this student thing very seriously - she and Nicole are going to the Carribbean for spring break!!! We may see her on Quilters Gone Wild! We're going to help her make a quilt for Joanna and Bill - the theme was just changed to monkeys - so she'll let us know when she has bought the main fabric - and we can get started. Pam had a lovely new hairdo. There was a question about when the Lancaster weekend is.....we check in on Friday, April 9th. And we check out on Sunday, the 11th. Can we take a head count of who is going? I can tell you the price after I know the number of people. Thanks.......Dolores you were missed. What's new with you and Gracie? Lori - any end in sight for the big dig? Consuelo - how was Chris' birthday celebration? I feel like Billy just started driving - wow - time is flying. I knew I'd forget to mention some things - I heard from the organ donor lady. She asked if we could make another quilt this year. I said yes - if anyone would like to help, that would be great. If you don't have time, that's fine too. I won't have the blocks and fabric for another week or so. I think that covers everything - if I left anything out, please chime in. Hope you all had a nice weekend. We bought some shamrock socks at Joann's to make some St. Patrick's Day sock monkeys. I'll keep you posted. Have a nice week, girls.....we have our last basketball game this week - and softball practice - indoors, of course! Piece.....

Uncle, uncle!!!! No more snow.....

Enough already! I've had enough snow to last me a couple of years! I long to see green grass....33 days till spring - seems like a short time and an eternity all at once. Hope everyone is coping/surviving/managing. How are the schoolgirls doing? Have you missed many classes? Lois - you and George have cabin fever yet? Pam - thinking of you and Scott going out every evening - when it is the 'slippery-est'! OY! A result of this homeboundness is our addiction to the Food Network. The girls and I have watched hours of Ace of Cakes, the Food Network Challenge and Iron Chef. It has not improved my kitchen skills one bit and I find I'm continuously hungry - but I can't turn it off! Look who was born on Valentine's Day and is living in my sewing room....

We need to get together.....how is this Thursday - maybe this recent ridiculousness will be melted by then. Hope you can make it.....piece.

Wishing you bear hugs from your loved ones and a Happy Valentine's Day!!! Piece......

Another snowy Wednesday...

but to the 10th power. It's crazy out there. I hope everyone is safe - I know that Cathy and Pam have to go to work....how about everyone else? SJU is closed today, thank goodness. Hoping for the same tomorrow - I"ll need that long to shovel out! If you're home, are you getting a chance to sew? I got these two tops together - they still need borders.

And a village is coming together....

Thinking about you all.....hoping the families are safe too. Take care.....hopefully we can get together soon. Burkie called from the British Virgin Islands yesterday - he was wearing his bathing suit, drinking Pirate's Punch at a beach bar, looking at the blue Caribbean - OY!!!! It couldn't happen to a nicer guy! Wishing you tropical daydreams....piece.

A snowy Wednesday...

Wasn't that a nice little treat from Mother Nature? Everything looked very pretty this morning and it really wasn't a big deal driving, etc. A fun bee last night. Consuelo brought a lovely chocolate cake (homemade) and we had tea and toasted Lois for her birthday. Lori, LA, Lois, Consuelo and myself. Cath and Mare - hope school is going well. Dolores - hoping you and Gracie are happy and healthy. Pam - sounds like you had a tough week at work last week - hope this one's better. Lois brought two quilt tops - another vintage Pooh and a very colorful Roman coins - very cute and I totally forgot to take pictures. She and George had Donovan all to themselves for a day while he and his Dad were here. They had a ball. Lori is still living through the (de)construction. The McCabes are all well - LA did you finish Dear John? She had 40 pages left! We discussed books and movies and blogs - Consuelo has finally grasped the Pioneer Woman - and stayed up till midnight reading the romance parts!!! Wahoo and giddayup. I found a blog yesterday - called Sew What - these girls have pulled together lots of free tutorials - very cool. I'll put it in the favorites list. I made this fabric basket and box from tutorials - lots of cool, free stuff out there ladies!

I made this last week but already gave it to a frend for her birthday - so I didn't have it for S&T - but here's a picture.

How about our snazzy countdown ticker???!!! That's courtesy of LA - you are the best!! Thanks for the link and it works great! I think that's it ladies.....any other news that I forgot? Enjoy the rest of the week.....piece.....
