Kevin wasn't feeling well so Mare and Kevin didn't 't join us. Pam wasn't able to join us either so it was just Dolores and myself. Dolores was very good and didn't buy much...I made up for her lack of spending! I bought the fabric I needed for a baby quilt and fabric for the 6th grade quilt fot the auction. We foud the Hayloft to have gone up in price a little. We also wen to sauders and pick up up a few groceries for Mare and Pam. It was a nice day for a drive!

Poor Kevin - hope he's feeling better. Glad you had a nice time. Lori - what are you making for the auction? Even if Hayloft prices went up a little - they're still so much better than other places - it's around $10 a yard most places....oy! Dolores - did you get some Moda? What are you working on currently? Did you get that patriotic quilt finished? Do you still have it? Hope other folks are getting to do a little - at least here and there. No snow this week ladies - that's terrific - and I took a peek at the upcoming forecast in the paper today - it's going to be 50 on Sunday and Monday - hallelujah!!! On that happy note...I wish you piece.......

Just got a phone call from Maureen about the 'Great Wall of Muslin' at Joann's! Hilarious - for those who thought it was in China - apparently not.....

Was she at Joanns when she called? I must have just missed her, I was there to pick up heat n bond. I am going to have the 6th graders trace each others silhouette and transfer then to black fabric and fuse them onto squares to make them into a quilt. Sound crazy? Just not sure if I should stitch them after fusing and if so how...zig zag with monofilament thread? Blanket stitch?...any input would be appreciated. The kids are going to trace their silhouettes on Friday. I am going to reduce the size once they are traced and am hoping to a 7 or 8 inch block. I don't want them too small especially if I have to stitch them...it could get tricky.

Hey - that sounds pretty cool...looking forward to seeing it. Stitching around them with black thread wouldn't be bad either - you wouldn't see it. How many kids? Have fun.....

I am currently working on getting rid of all my fleece and flannel by making dog blankets. A friend in work collects them for shelters. I can't believe how much fabric I have. I have already finished 6 dog blankets only using fleece and flannel - On to the cotton! I didn't buy much, but I had a nice time and I didn't have to go to work - so that's a win win in my book. The patriotic t shirt quilt was mailed out before Christmas, I'm not even sure he got it, but I'm hopeful. Take care and have a nice weekend.
