A new holiday and a confession....

A new holiday.....last Friday evening, Burkie and Erin were online trying to figure out how to get her phone fixed. She dropped it. They find out they can mail it back to the company which prompts a search of the house looking for an appropriate, small box. Burkie comes downstairs and I hear the two of them in the kitchen laughing and plotting something. I walked in, he turns to me with a Steve Carrell grin and hands me a small box and says, 'Happy Second Mother's Day'! Inside the box is a rabbit figurine - I used to collect these things for years...haven't gotten one in quite some time because we don't have space. I don't buy the insincere BS for a minute. When did you order this? Looking at the paperwork, it turns out it's been under his nightstand since 2002!!!! Happy Mother's Day to me! Oy - I guess it truly is the thought that counts!

Last Saturday, I couldn't put it off any longer.....I had to clean out the sewing room. There were piles of fabric on the floor, spilling out of containers and it was crying out for attention. I'm both embarrassed and proud to say that I discarded 8 trash bags full of old fabric, patterns and 'stuff'. When I started quilting and joined the guild, some of the older ladies were happy to 'donate' fabric to me - to get my stash started. And I kept it all...thinking it would be a shame to waste it, I might use it for something someday. Nope! It is so much neater, color coordinated and nice to be in. Starting a new project today! Hope you are all well...Dolores - how is Gracie? What's the diagnosis? What's up with the Italians? Hope to see y'all at LA's gig tonight. Enjoy the day - the thunder and lightning so far have been spectacular....no sleeping in today! Piece.....

2002??!! That's impressive! Burkie must have had such a good hiding place that HE couldn't even find it!! I am jealous that you cleaned out your sewing room. Mine could use a little picking up also. I have not been getting any sewing done. I have a tee shirt quilt that I have to get finished, but it requires a trip to get fabric...so, not sure when that will happen.
I will not make it to LA's tonite...I am headed to the shore sometime today. I was at another 31 demo last year. I like their products and most things are very reasonable. I got a few on the small thermal bags that I think they may be discontinuing for teachers gifts for the end of the year..monogrammed and everything! They are really cute!
Hope everyone is enjoying these last few weeks of summer!

Wow Jean congratulations on the new holiday. Hayes just called Gracie is fine and is ready to be discharged. I will pick her up Friday after work or Saturday morning. If anyone needs me to bring their machine in let me know and I'll pick it up before I go. Mr Hayes asked me again what it was I was doing with the machine, I now have more than 15 million stitches and he thinks that may be a records for how young Gracie is. Very embarrassing. Sorry LA I won't be able to make it tonight.

D - embarrassing - are you kidding? They should name a wing of the factory or something after you. You should have frequent sewer miles.....and get some free fabric or thread out of the deal. See what Mr. Hayes says about that! Glad she's ok....
