Happy Black Friday,

Did everyone survive Thanksgiving?! Who stayed home & cooked, & who went somewhere else for their feast? What kinds of traditions do you QM's have?

Mare - can you tell me about gnocchi? Is it made from potatoes or is it pasta? Do you serve it @ Thanksgiving with red sauce/Italian "gravy"? Do you make a turkey too? And, you & Dolores (I think...) were talking about making gnocchi using a fork or something? I don't know anything about it, can you give a mini crash course? I think you stayed home, Mare, right? Any other relatives come over? How's your Mom?

Did anyone else stay home? Or did you make a covered dish to share @ a relative or friend's home? If you made a covered dish, what did you take?

What about other Thanksgiving traditions...watching the Macy's parade, going to the Philadelphia parade, watching foot ball, going to the movies...?

Scott & I were home & feasting! ; ) Wednesday evening I made my baked pineapple casserole, & pumpkin pies. It had been a couple years since I made pumpkin pies! Thursday morning we stuffed a 14 pound turkey, & later in the day it was served with all the trimmings - gravy, mashed potatoes, orange cauliflower. YUM!!! There's plenty of leftovers too!!! We're ready for soup, turkey salad sandwiches, & hot turkey platters.

Yesterday afternoon I raked our front yard. Today I'm thinking, "Why?!" How bout this change of weather?! The winds sure blew in COLD!

Is anyone working today? I'm off & hoping to do some quilting! : ) Mare, thanks for dropping off the black binding! I'd like to get the Mystery quilt done. I'm pretty sure I'm giving it to my Mom for Christmas.

I know Lori is out there @ the Malls & stores doing some mega Black Friday shopping!!! Anyone else? Mama Barb has coupons & plans to shop today. Not me. I did shopping over the Summer, & recently I did some online shopping too.

Hey, use the link to Cloth & Bobbin to see Cathy's TATW quilt on the web!!! : ) It was a VERY pleasant surprise for me to navigate there yesterday & see Cathy's quilt. AWESOME job, Cath!!! : )

We're planning on having Bee Tuesday @ Jean's, is that correct?! I'm looking forward to it!

Enjoy your day, your family, & sew a little if you get the chance!
Piecefully, Pam

I took a break for lunch. I am half way finished quilting the Mystery quilt. Hooray!!! Mare - thanks to your question about drawing lines on a quilt top for grid quilting versus adding the guide to the walking foot, for the very first time, I am using the guide & did NOT have to mark the quilt top. Wahoo!!! THANKS ever SEW much! I LOVE you guys!!! Piecefully, Pam

Hello - I just got home from work.
Had a nice and quiet Thanksgiving at my Mom and Dad's. We took stuff over there and had dinner with my parents. We had to go visit my fil in the afternoon. He was without an aide for a couple of hours (he wouldn't pay holiday pay). What can I say. This weather is unbelievable. Hope everyone has a nice weekend and has time to sew. Can't wait to see your quilt Pam. Take care

Hey, everyone! Anyone have a turkey hangover? I made two kinds of muffins and bought a pie and took them to my Mom's. Love this holiday!! I got to wash all the dishes but it was worth it to not cook! The girls and I watched Elf when we came home - that has become a bit of a tradition for us. No shopping for me today - I hate normal shopping. I'm with you, Pam - online is the way to go. We went to see Bee Movie today - it was cute. I'm teaching the 3D pinwheel baby quilt at the Cloth & Bobbin - I have the top finished and it's pin basted - just have to quilt it. I'm pillowcasing it so after it's quilted, it's finished. Want to get it over to Johanna this upcoming week. Cath - can't wait to check out the site and see yours!!! Hope everyone had a nice day yesterday. Mare - how was the gnocchi? Peg - haven't heard a peep from you in a while....how was the Haverford bonfire and your cheerleading gig? My BIL and nephews went to the Haverford/UD game yesterday - said it was great. Well...we just finished playing Life so I'm headed up to start some quilting....piece.

good afternoon ladies,
I worked today till 1 pm. I hate getting up in the morning when everyone else is in bed. Oh, well!!

My dinner was wonderful --Joanna's friend Bill joined us this year. The gnocchi was great --ever have some left for Sunday. Joe and I made gnocchi, soup and gravy Tues nite. I'velearned to cook everything early so thanksgiving day I'm not crazy. The only things I had to make Thurs. was the coconut custard pie(Joanna), pumpkin bread (Jody & Jimmy)and crazy cake (Joe & Nicole) and Bill brought a homemade Pecan Pie.. For me --I eat it all..
Hope to sew tonight. Pam & Jean can't wait to see your quilts. See ya tues. nite. Mare

Just wanted to let you know there was a Lori siting around 5:00pm, heading south on the Blue Route. Bill noted that the van was dragging heavily in the back. I hope there's still merchandise for the rest of us....

Pam,
The gnocchi are made with ricotta chesse, flour and egg. But, recently I had them with pumpkin they were delicous. Mom is doing well but, next tuesday I have to take her to a specailist --her arteries went from 50% to 70 % in one year. So, heart doctors wants her to see a specialist. Hope to sew tonight.

Ladies,

I finished quilting the Mystery quilt. : ) I got the binding sewn to the front, but have to whip stitch it to the back yet. The back has a couple pleats & a ripple or two. It's not my best work, but then, this is the "purdy" quilt. Honestly, I'm just glad I got it this far. Jean - I'm anxious to see your Pinwheel project! Mare - thanks for the gnocchi info! Thanks all for sharing a bit of your Thanksgiving traditions here. Stay warm & sew when you can! Piecefully, Pam
