Howdy Mama's!

Jean - thanks for hosting a Bee Sew-In today. I got there late & missed some peeps & stuff, but here's what I heard or saw...

Marianne's Joe D. has moved out on his own. Nicole is going to Temple. And, Joanna is handling the weeding (uh, that should read WEDDING!) stuff.

Mo's Billy is going to WVU, & she was called into work today. The nerve!?

LA's Kevin is not going to have surgery tomorrow. LA - should Lois start mixing Bunny Tails...?!

Peggy's been bitten...

and other than that, things seem status quo...

Jean - your Phillies quilt is GREAT! : ) LOVE your June Bunny Hill block. Did you get any quilting suggestions for your next "table runner of the month" project? It's AWESOME...I REALLY like the pattern & the colors/fabric you used! Thanks for the machine quilting prep & demo too! I SEW appreciated that!!!

Dolores - your batik blocks ROCK! LOVE the Chez Moi Swanky jelly roll!!! Show us the Biker Quilt, please?! ; )

Lois - your Aunt Millie's block is TERRIFIC!!! Glad if we got the vines in place & discussed/demo'ed the leaves for you too! ; )

Sorry I left so abruptly. Jean, I hope you didn't mind. I looked @ the clock & was surprised by the time...it FLIES when you're having fun...

Missed those I didn't see. Jean will be on vacation next week. Will there be a Bee...?

Keep cool, ladies & take a few stitches when you can!

Sewing Circles

Howdy Gals!

Sun and clouds today. But, NO rain...so far!!! : )

This morning I was busy making circles...

Hey, glad to hear there's been some successes with the Aunt Millie block! Bring your project, questions and supplies along to our Sew-In and I'll teach you how to make the stems, alright?

I am busy stitching my Flower Pots block #3. ; ) I am also prepping for teaching @ Cloth & Bobbin tomorrow evening. I feel nervous & barf-y. : P Besides handouts, if you guys have any helpful suggestions for me to use with my class tomorrow, I'm ALL ears!?!?!?

Sunshine...?!

Good Morning Girls,

There has been some sunshine sighting so far this morning! I'm thankful for it!!! I have wash out on my line...

I didn't see the rainbow on Saturday. I was sure there MUST have been one! We were in & out of rain throughout the day. We went to York for a visit with my Mom. Then to Spring Grove to pick berries. Then home. We didn't actually get rained on, but sure did drive through lots of it!

I made a fruit buckle yesterday. Two actually, one was given to our (pregnant) neighbor! It turned out pretty yummy!!! ; )

This morning I was out working in the garden beds. I picked lettuce & herbs. Would anyone like fresh parsley, basil, tarragon, chives, spearmint, or oregano? I have enough to share & would be happy to do so. I weeded & pruned - LOTS!

I've started working on the third Flower Pots block. It's coming along. I'm uncertain how to stitch the butterflies on the bottom of this block...?!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. How was Father's Day in your house? Hopefully YOU got to do some stitching!? ; )

LA - thinking of you & that Kevin kid! If you need anything just holler!
Lor - how was the Beach? Sunny...
Cath - sorry you can't be @ the Sew-In. ; /
Lois - if you're coming to the Sew-In on Thursday, bring along your hand applique!
Mare - should we plan to work on Joanna & Bill's quilt on Thursday?!
D - what's new? Skunkless in Havertown...?!
Mo - are you home? How's things, girl friend?
Jean - see ya Thursday!

Wow - another dreary day. More softball games cancelled. To brighten it up - we decided to go out to lunch...a little pre-Father's Day celebration. We went to Bahama Breeze in KoP - I highly recommend it. Nothing like an umbrella drink to ward off the rainy day blues. Hope you're all coping and making it a good day. Heading up to do some sewing - another good rainy day activity. Try to stay dry! Cath - have fun at Buffett tonight. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and a Happy Father's Day to all the Quiltpapas and Dads everywhere - here and in heaven. Piece...

UNCLE!!! UNCLE!!! I give! ENOUGH with this weather already!!! Who has the biggest yard?!?!?! I think it may be time to start the ark...?! Can you stand it?! We didn't have power when I got up this morning. Then we did. Then we didn't. And, for the moment we do. Ugh! No power = no lights, no sewing, no baking, no, no, no...!?

There was a Bee last evening. Cathy stopped by! : ) She had show 'n tell too!!! She made a GORGEOUS Chinese Coins baby quilt using yellow strips from Lois. Then, she made a quilt top using a Sweet Treats pattern & stash!!! ; ) She had some other Sweet Treats that showed up in her mail too...imagine!? Here's my show 'n tell...

Keep dry!

Good Morning Girls,

Maybe not such a gloomy-gus kinda day today...?! A girl can hope, right!? ; ) I have laundry in the washer, & yep!, you guessed it - it's going OUT on the line!!! : )

I want to pick some flowers too. I should also check the weed situation in the vegetable garden?! Lois, how are you doing with rabbits in your garden? I didn't tell Jingle, but this morning when I opened the kitchen curtain, a plump bunny was sitting right in the grass nibbling... Rascally Rabbit (said with that Elmer Fudd kind of lisp)!!!

I took last night off! NO actual sewing. I did some sewing things, but not the needle & thread kind of sewing. It felt a little bit nice taking a breather! Now though, this morning, I'm READY to work on Bunny Hill!!! So, without further ado...

Enjoy your day too! ; )

Morning Girls,

OK, so we're back to gloomy blah-ness...?! Another GOOD sewing day, right? At least Mother Nature seams to know when it's the weekend!

Hey, since I don't have kids or any play-offs going on here @ Mt. Pleasant and I'm certain we'll bee home, you are welcome to drop by for Bee on Wednesday if you'd like. : ) If the weather is nice, I'll bee out on the patio stitching. If the weather is yuck-o, I'll bee in the studio. Meanwhile, I plan to stitch more on my Flower Pots block today. Hopefully by Wednesday I'll be working on block #3 &/ my Bunny Hill BOM!

My crock pot is full of steel cut oatmeal this morning. Looks like perfect weather for it! What's going on in your kitchen, garden, sewing space, life...?! Since we don't have sunshine outside, I hope you have some sunshine INside! ; ) Kid's Day always sounds like FUN, Jean!

Good Morning,

How is everyone this morning?! It's NOT raining!!! Hooray!!! ; )

Lori, Dolores & I had a nice trip to the Hayloft yesterday afternoon. Lor bought some patriotic fabrics to make a quilt for a relative who recently joined the Army. Dolores bought some awesome batiks & a cool book. And, I bought a couple fabrics to use with my Flower Pots project. Plus a few homespuns too since I used up most of my stash with the Santa's Blessings project. We topped off our trip with a stop @ the Windmill. We thought of you LA!!! ; )

I received a sales flyer from Sauder's. June 18, 19, 20, 22, 23 are the dates for their sale. Didn't know if anyone might be interested or in "need"...?! Just sharing! ; )

Remember "Mr. Latte?" The 2 dog walking, personal trainer, coffee sipping man who watched me & Jingle River Dance & then do the alligator death roll (without the H2O)...?! Yeh, HIM! Well, Scott & I switched dog walking yesterday so I could go to the Hayloft. Scott had an "incident" with Mr. Latte & his dogs... Let me just say that everyone is alright! Scott came walking around the corner with Jingle approaching the house where these 2 dogs live. They have an electric fence, but the female dog comes a hellin' with spittle flying & then comes to a screeching halt. She's enough to make you pee! Well, last evening, no collar & NO electric fence! She lunged past Scott & got a hold of Jingle. Scott had the 2 of them airborne (yep, that's over 100 lbs of DOG!!!) & was trying to somehow get between the 2 dogs. Jingle was wearing her like a cape as they were flying through the air with Scott spinning them 360!!! Alas, Mr. Latte comes & calls her off!!! Holy crap!!! Scott said the force, speed & strength of the entire event was unreal. It lasted only a few seconds, but was played in s-l-o-w m-o-t-i-o-n for Scott. Lordy!!! We don't see any breaks in Jingle's skin. Scott has some scrapes & scratches & his back is a bit "off," but it could have been a WHOLE lot worse. Gee whizz. I can't go anywhere...!

May your weekend be UN-eventful! Get outside & enjoy this nice weather while it lasts! Stitch when you get a moment!!!

I'm getting there!!! ; )

Jean - ENJOY SUMMER!!! : ) Hip, hip h-o-o-r-a-y!!! Was Jimmy Buffet last night or is it next week...?!

Good Morning Girls,

Did you weather the (wicked!) storm this morning?! Holy cow!!! I lit a couple candles, just in case... Whew! Shelby made herself invisible. While Jingle stayed right by my side. Auntie Em...?!

Have you used our "widget" to go to the SEWN site yet? It's chock-full-o goodness! ; ) Take a spin & have a look see.

I haven't forgotten about the Bunny Hill BOM! I am pondering colors... How 'bout you?

Glad to hear the skunk is NO more! Keep an eye out for skunk babies though...

Glad to hear Ami's class was FUN!!! How could it NOT be? ; )

So, is there a Hayloft trip being planned for this Friday? Any details yet? I need needles that they sell & some dark homespuns too.

Looking forward to Bee tomorrow evening. Feel free to bring along your applique questions. I don't know that I'll be-e "teaching," but if there's something I can help with...?!

Stay dry & keep cool! Just 2 more days left of school...?! ; )

SEWN winner is Gayle!

Good Evening Girls,

Hey, only one "Mama" commented on the post regarding SEWN & the giveaway...?! Gayle YOU won my Origami purse prize!!! I used a random number selector & it chose your post! : ) If you send me your postal address I'll put the Origami purse in the mail! : ) Congrats to YOU!!!

Today I talked myself out of going to pick strawberries...I still have cherry jam on my pantry shelves, so I don't need to make strawberry jam, right...?! Then there was the campus picnic @ the College. Yeh, I didn't go to that either. I know, I KNOW!...I am SO antisocial. : / By now, that should be no surprise to any of you!

I did stitch today!!! I got 6 applique shapes prepped this morning for block #2 of Flower Pots. And today I got 4 of them sewn in place! : ) Tomorrow is another day! I have 4 more pieces ready to go, errr sew! : ) And, I don't know how many remain undone yet. I'm afraid to count... Like Scarlet O'Hara, "I'll think about that tomorrow...!"

Jean - how was your class with Ami? Was she a panic?! : ) Did you use your *NEW* fat quarters?!?!?! Show 'N Tell!!!

Dolores - thanks for making us laugh about Skunk Cam!!! Oh my gosh, it sounds hysterical!!! : D What about the babies...?! Joe Byrnes!?!?!? Did the Township pick up the skunk today? I don't think I'd want that job!

Bee is @ Cathy's this week, right? Cath - will you re-do last week's Show 'N Tell, PLEASE!?

LA - how are you doing with the kids? Not too many more days of school left!

Time to go tuck in. Sweet dreams all. Have an excellent tomorrow!!! ; )

Sewn

Have you guys heard about this...? Are you doing it? I'm going to try to add the widget to our blog. Plus, I need to think of something to give away...? Anyone else wish to participate with me...?!

OK...I can not seem to copy/paste/download the SEWN widget to our blog. I'll try again later. Does anyone have experience with this or know how to do it...?! Help!

Piecefully, Pam

P.S. Since I got the widget working, here's what I'm offering up as my giveaway...an Origami Purse with Kaffe Fassett fabric & denim! : ) Thanks for the comments. Keep 'em coming!!! ; )

Good Morning Girls,

Yesterday's weather was SO nice that I wasn't in the house until dark & then I was stitching! How 'bout you guys? Did you get outside to blow some stink off too?! ; ) Any time for sewing? Scott & I also took advantage of the weather & ran errands yesterday. Yuck-o.

Jean - I found Elmer's School glue with the adjustable nozzle @ Target yesterday. If you didn't get any yet I can bring it along to the LCC this afternoon. Just let me know?!

Lor - about driving together to LCC today, uh, I'd prefer to meet there. I'd like to drive myself so I can leave whenever I'm ready. I'm not great @ these kinds of things...

Since I was "teaching" @ Bee on Wednesday, I missed most of the socializing. Can you guys tell me today @ the CC what I missed, please? I didn't see Kerry's pictures, I think I heard Jean talking about the Elf stitcheries, & that's all I (don't) know about. Will you guys fill me in?!

Mare - I can't take your place @ the Ami Simm's class tomorrow. If it's raining will you still go 'down the shore' with Matt? Maybe Lois would be interested in taking your place since I can't...?

Alright, time to walk JIngle. He has a new puppy friend in the neighborhood, Lucy. She is SO cute. We think Jingle may be in l-o-v-e with her...?! ; )

Here's where I'm @ with Flower Pots block #2...

See you soon!

TGIF...even if it is rainy!

Well now...THAT deserves a new post!!! Way to GO, Mo!!! ; ) You are having a banner day!!!

How is everyone coming along with their applique...? Trouble finding glue, I hear?! Lo were you able to understand & follow my comment so/sew you could continue to work on your project? Feedback ladies...???

I spent much of today doing tech things & stitching. I have the 3 large leaves & one flower piece stitched in place on the second Flower Pots block. Hooray! I have begun sewing the vines too. I have some fabric selections made for more applique shapes. I've learned that BIG pieces take l-o-n-g-e-r to stitch. And, increased surface area, ie dips & cut out areas, take more time to stitch too. Duh.

Enjoy your Friday! Keep dry. The weather is looking up for Saturday & Sunday! ; )

How 'bout this SPECTACULAR weather!!! Hasn't it been glorious?!?!?! I have been thoroughly enjoying the sunshine, mild temps & light breeze. : ) Cool nights & tucking under a cozy quilt is just perfect!

Mare & Mo, what a gorgeous weekend for graduation! Kudo's to you two women & both graduates!!! The real prize & victory is getting them graduated!!! Again, my most sincere kudo's & praise! : )

I will plan on 6 for teaching applique. Three right handed & three left. I'm kind of anxious, but a little nervous too. I hope I don't disappoint you guys. I don't know how much stitching we'll get to do this first session will require a fair amount of prep work. I'm excited though!!! Do you have any questions?

And, I certainly hope that Mo, LA & whoever else may feel free to drop by! Estrogen & girl-ness can ALWAYS be-e shared regardless of what we're doing! ; )

We had such a FuN visit with Momma Barb over the weekend. : ) She's a pee!!! I seriously won the Mother-In-Law lottery!!!

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday @ Cathy's! Enjoy your evening! Take just a couple stitches if that's all you have time for! ; )
